Life Along Lake Michigan

Winter arrived yesterday. We received 6-8 inches of Lake effect snow and this morning the temperature is 15F. I guess I can't deny the fact that winter is now here. The ground is not frozen under this thick blanket of snow, but the temperatures are too cold to melt anything. I heard my sister and my mom wish for the snow and cold weather. My mom wanted cold weather to keep the bugs from being around the house. My sister wants the snow to cover up her unsightly lawn. I hope they are happy. I just hope we aren't stuck with this white stuff until winter ends. I'm hoping and praying for a mild winter. Last year was so long and we had so much snow.
Montreal is still clear and cold. Although the temperatures have been consistently warmer than here in Holland. This morning it is 25F in Montreal and 15F here. It would be nice if Amanda could enjoy a winter commute without so much snowfall this year. (They broke records for snowfall last year in Montreal).
